Quartz Boulder - Fern Forest Trail

Wachusett Meadow - Princeton, MA

I enjoy passing by this boulder every time we hike at Wachusett Meadow. You know this rock is a big deal because it's marked on the sanctuary map. In previous visits, the sky is overcast so the lighting is even and muted. This time, the sun was bright and low which lit up the quartz. The contrast created by the bright white stone against the rusty/orange leaves was something I could not ignore.
